Alpine Boardroom

Alpine Capital Services' Boardroom combines inviting interior design with modern technology. When one hears the term modern technology, it's commonly believed that a college degree in electronics is required to operate the given equipment. This is not the case with this system. Tek 7 designed and installed an AV system that is user friendly and functional.

An AMX LCD touch panelis used as the system interface. It is the only device needed to control the AV system. Touch panel inputs have been installed at both ends of the conference table and one at the center for convenience and mobility. A master card frame is used to handle the system control requirements.

A/V Equipment Rack

Alpine needed a boardroom with the ability to accept most of today's popular media formats. This is realized with a combination of high-end consumer and professional devices. The audio portion of the system includes a Kenwood DP-R5070 CD Player and a Marantz PMD500 Dual-Well Cassette Deck. The driving force of the audio system is a QSC Series One 1400 Power Amplifier followed by JBL Control 10 Program Speakers. Volume is controlled through the AMX system- allowing the user to make adjustments on the Touch Panel. For video and image projection you will find a Pioneer CLD-V2600 LaserDisc Player, a Panasonic AG-W1 Multi-Standard VHS Deck, a Sony VP-7020 U-Matic 3/4" Player, a Navitar Videomate 5000 (slide to video projector) and a Canon VC-C1 Communication Camera.

Audio and Video routing is accompolished through an AutoPatch 4YDM Distribution Matrix with a 16 in and 8 out configuration. The video outputs of the AutoPatch are line doubled by a Faroudja LD200 Line Doubler. An Inline IN3506 6x1 RGB Switcher handles the final routing before the NEC 6PG Plus MultiSync Projector. The NEC Projector, set up for rear projection, displays its image on an 84" Diamond Screen by Draper Shade and Screen Company.

The audio conferencing portion of the system has many interesting features. Tek 7 field fitted four TAI TMBO-0-2 microphones into the boardroom table. Other conferencing devices include a Gentner 3010 Peoplelink, a TAI Mainframe (also used for the Boardroom's voice lifting system), and 10 Sound Advance System CT62DM Ceiling Speakers. The Sound Advance System speakers have a paintable surface. After installation, they were painted the color of the ceiling, making them virtually invisible.

Lutron equipment was used to handle the lighting requirements. The design called for four lighting presets which controlled 4 zones of lights.

Lutron Grafik Eye

Each preset has different lighting levels for different conference room functions. Lighting presets for watching video, showing slides, or just adjusting levels during a meeting are easily done through the touch panel or by pressing a button on the Lutron GRAFIK Eye wall panel.

All AV and control devices are found in one WRK-44 Middle Atlantic equipment rack hidden in the room cabinetry. Although the room offers extensive AV capabilities, the only visible part of the system is the touch panel! The Alpine Capital Services boardroom is a perfect example of incorporating AV functionality with room design.
